Arts Margaret River Sundowner

Augusta Hotel, Augusta

The Arts Margaret River Sundowners are an annual series of free family concerts that are well loved and well attended.

The Sundowners support local musicians and enable Arts Margaret River to give back to our community, and for the community to be exposed to differing music styles. Importantly, it enables low-income families within the district the opportunity to attend a concert as a family group. Friends and family, some comprising four generations, gather with their picnic on the lawn and delight in the location, ambience and music. South 76 South 76 roll into Augusta with a blend of coastal grit, rural honesty, and a touch of mystic freedom. Born of salt, dust and open skies, this South West five-piece grew from the wild stretch of country where the Southern Ocean meets rugged farmland — the land that gave them their name. Their sound weaves country rock, blues and roots into swamp stompin’ originals, reimagined favourites and harmonies shaped by gravel roads, salt-stained summers and the confines of long grey winters. Onstage, South 76 bring a show that’s equal parts grounded and untamed — rich vocals, electric energy, and the kind of storytelling that feels lived-in and close to home. Join them on the lawn for a golden-hour Sundowner overlooking the river and the sea — the perfect backdrop for a band forged exactly where those worlds meet.

“I think I enjoy these concerts even more than going to the big Leeuwin Concerts. The Sundowners really are for the community to enjoy.” – A local resident.
